In The Mastery of Love, don Miguel Ruiz illuminates the fear-based beliefs and assumptions that undermine love and lead to suffering and drama in our relationships. Using insightful stories to bring his message to life, Ruiz shows us how to heal our emotional wounds, recover the freedom and joy that are our birthright, and restore the spirit of playfulness that is vital to loving relationships. The Mastery of Love includes: • Why "domestication" and the "image of perfection" lead to self-rejection • The war of control that slowly destroys most relationships • Why we hunt for love in others, and how to capture the love inside us • How to finally accept and forgive ourselves and others "Happiness can only come from inside of you and is the result of your love. When you are aware that no one else can make you happy, and that happiness is the result of your love, this becomes the greatest mastery of the Toltec: the Mastery of Love." — don Miguel Ruiz

“The greatest journey you can take is the one within yourself.” -- don Miguel Ruiz Jr. Outside Mexico City lies the ancient pyramid complex of Teotihuacan, which, according to the oral tradition of the Ruiz family, is the spiritual center for the Toltec people. For over twenty years, don Miguel Ruiz Jr. has been traveling to Teotihuacan to teach others about the powerful mysteries found there. In The Mastery of Life, Ruiz explains how the sacred pyramids and plazas of Teotihuacan act as symbolic stops on the transformative path of Toltec Warriors—those who apply the teachings of the Toltecs in their own lives to win the inner war against the forces of domestication, fear, and self-judgment. At the same time, he guides you on your own inner journey, helping you to experience firsthand the transformative power of the Toltec teachings without ever leaving the comfort of your own home. Each chapter contains practical exercises and reflections designed to help you find peace and personal freedom in your own life, right now. Your journey awaits.
One of the cornerstones of New Thought, the precursor to New Age thinking, is the marriage of mind and spirit, of science and religion. Another foundational block of the philosophy is the belief that each person is born with the full potential of transcending mundane existence and achieving spiritual enlightenment and communion with God. In Mastery of Self, Christian D. Larson gracefully guides the reader to a better understanding of these basic principles, and provides practical instruction on how to both open and rein in one's self, to ensure the individual continues moving ever forward and is building always toward the fulfillment of that potential, gaining a healthier, happier life along the way.American New Thought pioneer CHRISTIAN DAA LARSON (b. 1874) is the author of the well-known Optimist Creed and published several important works of spiritual science, including Mastery of Self, In the Light of the Spirit, and The Great Within.
The purpose of this book is to set you free to be who you really are. As you love who you are you will find that you move through life holding your head slightly high and your chest will be expanded and open for love and receiving. Your neck will be long and lean, your throat open showing you are always ready to share and relate. You will know who you are and therefore will feel comfortable to be fully expressed. You will no longer worry about what others think of you. Why? Because you love yourself flaws and all. When you love your Self, and have your boundaries in place, there is not much that can take you off center for too long. This book encourages you to shine in your own full expression in this beautiful life where you know you are loved just for being exactly who you are.

• Doña Bernadette Vigil, the working partner of don Miguel Ruiz and a fully initiated Nagual woman, reveals the authentic tradition of Toltec self-mastery. • Includes exercises from the ancient spiritual path that take the practitioner from Jaguar Knight and Eagle Knight through Nagual Master. • Provides a program of 11 Agreements for continuing the spiritual journey. The Toltec people of ancient Mexico possessed powerful knowledge, passed down secretly through generations of Naguals, that enabled them to achieve a remarkable psychic and spiritual balance. These spiritual warriors learned to discipline their thoughts and emotions, channeling their energy into unconditional love for themselves and others and transforming their world in the process. With the understanding of one who has walked the path, doña Bernadette Vigil--a full Nagual, or shaman, in the Toltec tradition--guides readers through the effective training techniques practiced by Toltec warriors for centuries. By following the practices of the spiritual warrior, readers will experience the amazing sense of peace and contentment that comes from finally breaking free from layers of self-limiting thoughts and fulfilling their true potential as human beings. More than a handbook for personal change, Mastery of Awareness challenges readers to transform the collective dream of the planet.

This dissertation applies Afrocentric methods of decipherment to a sacred symbol selected from the ancient Egyptian language of Mdw Nt&barbelow;r (Words of God). The chosen symbol is transliterated by Egyptologists as neb and translated ideographically as lord, master. My purpose is to determine whether application of certain methods of decipherment innovated by Africologist Weldon C. Williams III enable deeper insight into the meaning of the selected symbol than that which is presently understood. The major finding of this research is that application of these methods do elicit much greater depth of meaning from the symbol than is known or can be known using the conventional linguistic approach of Egyptology. The resulting Afrocentric decipherment of neb herein has revealed new knowledge: an African philosophy of mastery that is emancipatory in that it reveals that self-knowledge is the key to mastery. This research also establishes an African concept of mastery that is distinguishable from feudal European concepts of lord and master which have been projected and misapplied to ancient Egyptian civilization. This dissertation is also significant in that it firmly establishes the importance of Afrocentric methodology in generating new knowledge about ancient Egypt.

The development of self- and emotional regulatory processes helps children to regulate their behavior based on their cultural context and to develop positive social relationships. This handbook brings together heretofore disparate literatures on self- and emotional regulation, brain and physiological processes, mastery motivation, and atypical development to highlight how mastery motivation is related to self-regulation and to clarify the relation between these various processes. Authors from a variety of countries and backgrounds provide an integrated, up-to-date review of the research and the key theoretical models to demonstrate how these processes relate to cultural and individual differences in both typical and atypical development. The renowned editors, all experts in a particular domain of self-regulation, provide section opening chapters that review the literature, provide a perspective that explains the findings, and suggest directions for future research. Although the focus is on quantitative studies, some qualitative findings and research using brain imaging methodologies are included. Outstanding features include: Reviews the development of self and emotional regulation from infancy through adolescence. Contributors from various countries and backgrounds provide an integrative review of the literature to guide the direction of future research. Features contributions from those who have had a strong impact on self-regulation research. Reviews research on developmental disorders that have implications for self-regulation. There are four sections. Section one introduces the development of self- and emotional regulation. This section reviews how self-regulation adapts based on personal and culturally-based goals and how individual differences predispose some to behavior disorders. Socialization influences are examined including a look at when typical regulation processes go awry. Section 2 examines physiological and brain processes as they relate to the deve
Each and every person is capable of doing good things and good deeds. Perhaps he's lost faith in himself, thinks very little of himself, and has forgotten who he truly is. He doesn't need to become anybody else. A person can't change his original self and will never be able to. With courage however, he can bring down the walls and open himself up to life anew. In his centre he is exactly as life needs him. I would like to guide people in how to love themselves. It is this love of self that fulfills the soul and offers protection along their journey which they take with responsibility and self-determination. The soul can grow and develop only under the protective blanket of love and help others to be strong and to cope with life.
