The Illusions of Life Book Description :

Our Life is like a book -- the story is already written for each of us. With every passing day, all we actually do is turn over a new page and execute second by second, minute by minute of what is written in our book of life. The number of pages in this book of life is different for each of us and so are the quality and colors of these pages. The book concept may seem like - since everything is destined, there is no point in putting in any hard work in our pursuit of success. This is where the interpretation could possibly go wrong. Even if you have understood what the concept of illusion is or if you have not, there is no way you will sit idle and achieve success. If your script dictates success, then in all probability, you will get it by overcoming hardships. You will be governed by the script which will ensure that you move mountains if need be, to achieve success. The author's life experiences have given him an insight, which he has tried to transform into this book. Many examples from real life stories have been referred to bring home the story of this concept. Hopefully, this book would help the reader understand the illusion which governs our lives and help cope with stress and failure in a more spiritual way. It would help the reader to accept his script -- his story, in the book of life.

The Illusion of Life Character Integrity and Performance in the Animated Form Book Description :

Seminar paper from the year 2017 in the subject Art - Photography and Film, grade: 1, University of Kent, language: English, abstract: The thesis investigates the reasons and motivations behind our emotional and affective responses to the animated character. In a form suffused with a self-conscious display of artifice and fabrication, there is a paradox of how we can respond to the animated figure in much the same way as a live actor and real life individual. The stop-motion form in particular provides doubt for engagement to occur, yet even with new and improving advancements of technology, this self-conscious, sometimes rough form holds a firm place in cinematic culture today. To fully understand the justifications and limitations of our engagement, I appeal to the motivations and skills of the animator in designing a character and making it a ‘performer.’ The study has revealed the goal of an animator is for believability more so than realism; ensuring every nuance of the character encourages an active spectator who is willing to suspend their disbelief for the duration of the film in order to enjoy and engage with it.

ILLUSIONS OF LIFE Book Description :

"Life makes an illusion to give you a lesson." Life gives you many scenarios but there are only a few things we perceive (able to) as the main focus or, here, the main idea we believe life gives us. Sometimes we believe we are the best of all blessed with more complex thinking capabilities but what we don't realise is the the 'me' is inconsequential to the grand scheme of things. We can form constructive criticisms on our own work and not take or accept destruction critism to better ourselves through gradual and steady steps. Life gives us many illusions so when our resolutions become shaky we can adjust our focus and move forward. And that's what defines our book 'illusions of life'.

Natural Causes Book Description :

We tend to believe we have agency over our bodies, our minds and even our deaths. Yet emerging science challenges our assumptions of mastery: at the microscopic level, the cells in our bodies facilitate tumours and attack other cells, with life-threatening consequences. In this revelatory book, Barbara Ehrenreich argues that our bodies are a battleground over which we have little control, and lays bare the cultural charades that shield us from this knowledge. Challenging everything we think we know about life and death, she also offers hope - that we find our place in a natural world teeming with animation and endless possibility.

The Illusion of Money Book Description :

New York Times best-selling author and comedian-turned-motivational speaker, Kyle Cease, shows how your obsession with money is actually preventing you from living the life of your dreams. "I can't afford that." "Now's not the right time . . . I need to save up." "Quit my job? Are you nuts?!" Sound familiar? Money is one of the biggest excuses we make to not go after what we really want. Our fixation with money--the desire for more of it, and the fear of not having enough of it--is often really just a longing to feel safe. But this obsession with money is coming at a much bigger cost: our sanity, our creativity, our freedom, and our ability to step into our true power. This book is about eliminating the need to seek safety through the illusion of money, and learning to see ourselves for the perfection that we are--so that we can bring our gifts to the world in an authentic way, and allow ourselves to receive massive, true abundance as a result. Kyle Cease has heard excuses like the ones above countless times at his live events, and he has shown people how to completely break through them. In The Illusion of Money, he shares his own experiences as well as practical tools to help readers understand their ingrained beliefs and attachments to money, and how they can tap into our infinite assets and talents. "After 25 years as a successful comedian, actor, transformational speaker, author and junior-league amateur bowler, I've experienced many times how chasing money is not an effective way to create an abundant and fulfilling life. The most alive I've ever felt was after I left my comedy career at its peak to become a transformational speaker. I left tons of guaranteed money and so-called security for a complete unknown. It was terrifying--but what was on the other side of that terror was a completely different life that is not only more abundant financially, but has more freedom, more ease, more passion, more impact and more joy." -- Kyle Cease

This parable is about a young lady's journey through the circumstances of life that can affect us for better, or worse. She starts out life disfigured but through the wonder of cosmetic surgery is transformed into a beauty queen. During this time, she gets caught up in a world that affords her all the advantages that come with pronounced physical beauty. On the other hand, having come from a humble background where beauty is determined by who we are rather than one's outward appearance, she never completely embraces all of the superficialities laid before her. While she is on this path, she encounters an older man of significant stature and prominence who is caught in a conflict between good and evil, but has always sided with good by using evil to achieve that outcome. He embraces her with the love and affection of a father, and brings attention to her humble beginnings reminding her that, that which makes her truly beautiful is who she should hold on to, if she wishes to avoid the pitfalls of the world that she's encountered. Later, she is embraced by a matriarch who possesses a good heart, along with a generous and giving nature, over time, the two of them become close. The strength of their bond along with their kind natures create a mother daughter type relationship between them, enabling both to grow into even better and greater loving souls, which further strengthens them as women. Eventually, the young lady experiences an accident which leaves her temporarily blind. Once again, she comes across another matriarch who aids her during this time of crisis. The elderly lady shares her love, time, knowledge, and wisdom enabling the girl to attain an even greater height of emotional and spiritual maturity. The Illusion Of Victory

  • Author : Ian Bickerton
  • Publisher : Melbourne University Publishing
  • Release Date : 2011-04-01
  • Genre : History
  • Pages : 400
  • ISBN : 0522860230

The Illusion Of Victory Book Description :

The Illusion of Victory demonstrates that most of the rewards of victory in modern warfare are either exaggerated or false. When the ostensible benefits of victory are examined a generation after a war, it becomes inescapably evident that the defeated belligerent rarely conforms to the demands and expectations of the victor. Consequently, long-term political and military stability is denied to both the victorious power and to the defeated one. As a result, neither victory nor defeat deter further outbreaks of war. This sobering reality is increasingly the case in the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. Ian Bickerton persuasively argues that as the rhetoric of victory becomes more hollow all countries must adopt creative new approaches to resolving disputes.
