Open Carry Book Description :

These are 201 love songs, eureka moments, jokes/farces/whimsies/wisecracks, and a little of just plain bitchin'. In short-the crazy variety of thoughts that erupt into consciousness well before they're seen as subjects for poetry. Sometimes a poem helped the author get through a dark night of the soul, sometimes it came from a kick in the ass-and sometimes from origins as inexplicable as dreams. In these pages you'll find more than a few howls of hurt-side by side with expressions of love and longing that sought a listener but had to make do with paper. The poems cover a wide range of styles and subject matter: free verse and sonnets, children's stories with an adult twist and dark prophesy, insights looking for a world to tell them to and diatribes against all and sundry-not to mention politics and pin-the-tail on Donald Trump games pursued with vigor. Like stories too good not to share, the author presents this body of work to anyone of a mind to listen.

My Parents Open Carry Book Description :

Come join 13-year-old Brenna Strong along with her mom, Bea, and her dad, Richard, as they spend a typical Saturday running errands and having fun together. What's not so typical is that Brenna's parents lawfully open carry handguns for self-defense. The Strongs join a growing number of families that are standing up for their 2nd Amendment rights by open carrying and bringing gun ownership out of the closet and into the mainstream. If you open carry and have a difficult time explaining why to your family and friends, or if you want to learn about the open carry of a handgun, or if you've wondered if open carry is right for you, then this book is what you need. My Parents Open Carry was written in the hope of providing a basic overview of the right to keep and bear arms as well as the growing practice of the open carry of a handgun. We fear our children are being raised with a biased view of our constitution and especially in regards to the 2nd Amendment. Before writing this, we looked for pro-gun children's books and couldn't find any. Our goal was to provide a wholesome family book that reflects the views of the majority of the American people, i.e., that self-defense is a basic natural right and that firearms provide the most efficient means for that defense. We truly hope you will enjoy this book and read and discuss it with your children over and over again. As you read this book, you will learn about the growing practice of open carry, the 2nd Amendment, and the right and responsibility of self-defense. Home School Teachers: This book is an excellent text to use as a starting point on the discussion of the 2nd Amendment.

Armed Deterrence Book Description :

The continued rise of self-radicalized lone-wolf terrorist attacks and mass shootings by mentally unstable individuals presents significant security challenges for military personnel serving outside of DoD facilities and at geographically separated units that offer no security. The recent attack on a recruiting center in Chattanooga, TN highlights this concern and raises the question of whether arming additional military members is a prudent force protection measure to counter this emerging threat. The overall intent of this paper is to argue that arming select military members with an "open carry" firearms policy is a prudent force protection measure for Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) detachments because it provides a visual "deterrent" against soft target attacks. Further, if perceptual deterrence should fail, an "open carry" firearms policy is most often the only viable means to stop (deny) an active shooter in order to safeguard the lives of military personnel. This paper uses a qualitative approach to argue that the benefits of arming ROTC Cadre with an open carry firearms policy outweigh the perceived risks of implementation. Presenting an in depth analysis of the postulated threat, the author synthesizes the problem by first examining current terrorist trends and active shooters events, to include their motivations. The paper then exposes the hazards affecting ROTC detachments due to their unique "soft target" nature. Four recommendations emerge from this paper, which provide several policy recommendations and considerations for full implementation. The first recommendation involves overhauling DoD Directive 5210.56 in order to address non-DoD owned or leased facilities. The second recommendation proposes that each DoD Component should draft measures to arm ROTC Cadre with an "open carry" firearms policy. The third recommendation suggests that further research is needed to determine which state(s) and local (university) laws enable or prevent implement
