A boy recently released from jail and the daughter of a prosecutor fall for each other against the odds in Prerna Pickett's YA novel, If You Only Knew. Corey has just been released from jail, and all he wants is a new beginning. But when his former gang comes knocking, Corey agrees to vandalize the home of Kent Hopper, the prosecutor who put him away. To erase the guilt she carries from getting away with a crime, Tessa spends most of her nights riding her motorcycle. When she catches Corey destroying her father’s car, she doesn’t see a criminal: She sees a way to finally right her own wrongs. So instead of turning Corey over to the police, she convinces her father to give Corey a second chance. As Tessa and Corey spend more time with each other, it becomes difficult to ignore the pull between them. But they’re both keeping secrets, and when those secrets come to light, they’ll each have to face their demons in order to have a future together.

A funny, frank and bittersweet look at sisters, marriage and moving on, from the New York Times bestselling author of the Blue Heron series Letting go of her ex-husband is harder than wedding-dress designer Jenny Tate expected…especially since his new wife wants to be Jenny's new best friend. Needing closure, Jenny trades the Manhattan skyline for her hometown up the Hudson, where she'll start her own business and bask in her sister Rachel's picture-perfect family life…and maybe even find a little romance of her own with Leo, her downstairs neighbor, who's utterly irresistible and annoyingly distant at the same time. Rachel's idyllic marriage, however, is imploding after she discovers what looks like her husband's infidelity. She always thought she'd walk away in this situation but now she's wavering, much to Jenny's surprise. Rachel points to their parents' perfect marriage as a shining example of patience and forgiveness; but to protect her sister, Jenny may have to tarnish that memory—and their relationship—and reveal a family secret she's been keeping since childhood. Both Rachel and Jenny will have to come to terms with the past and the present, and find a way to help each other get what they want most of all.
In summary, we judge people by the clothes, jobs cars or where they live. Sometimes a person might miss out on the love of their life because they are looking at the outward appearance instead of trying to bring out the best of a person. I'm not saying spend all of your time trying to help that person validate himself with yourself because with some people that's work in progress and it usually is not going to happen. How about treating people the way you want to be treated that sweet and often will have better results. We often hear that saying that God don't like ugly. And this lady told me one time and he isn't that fun of pretty either. Sometimes I think it is innate for humans to judge but from reading we might need to start thinking outside of the box and don't let that love past you by. Live and love, it's not that hard. If you meet a person and that person likes you for who you are, try loving that person back. Women or men I'm not saying lower your standards but get with somebody who accept your inner soul and try to build on what makes you both happy together. Like Teddy Pendergrass use to sing." It's so good loving somebody when somebody loves you back. So in Closing, "Don't worry be happy".

Josh Weidmann, just out of the teen years himself, joins his father, James, to help dads understand where their kids are coming from. It’s a messy world they live in, and meeting them in it is no simple task. But knowing these essentials now makes fatherhood eight times easier! That teen you love is a “riddle wrapped in a mystery.” No father can know what his teen is really thinking. That’s why youth communicator Josh Weidmann teamed with his father, Jim, to help you bridge the gap. In Dad, If You Only Knew…you’ll get an open, honest glimpse inside the teen mind. Josh’s extensive research, combined with pointed direction from a father’s heart, provide you with the practical guidance you need to establish a healthy, thriving father-teen relationship. I have been speaking to youth for five years and the greatest void I see in teens’ lives is the one left by their dad. I am only twenty-three years old myself, and to this day I can say that my dad is the most influential man in my life. Because of his impact, I have asked him share in this book. We have written this message in hopes of helping dads reengage in the vital father-teen relationship.” —Josh Weidmann

What if you knew all the moments of my past that I am not proud of? What if you really knew me, the messy parts that I’ve hoped to forget and worked hard to conceal? For so long, my greatest fear was what you might think of me if you only knew the whole story. It’s exhausting, this guarding of our stories and struggles. Fear of being found out had caused me to hide—but I wasn’t just covering my flaws, I was unintentionally blocking the beauty of God’s grace. My journey to real freedom began when I quit running from my mess and started trusting Jesus to make something beautiful of it. This book is that story. It’s stepping out of shame and insecurity into gospel freedom. It’s letting God turn our failures and frailties into testimonies of His faithfulness. I’ve discovered that when we quit hiding, God gets the glory and we are able to fully embrace not only our relationship with Him, but also with one another. Transparency brings freedom, and in every moment, we'll find that God can absolutely be trusted.

When Sarah was a little girl, she talked to me about the things she went through as a child and how she came through with the grace of God and family, how she grew up on the farm, and the hurt and pain of sexual abuses she experienced. Sarah lived and suffered through domestic violence as a young adult and through her married life. Sarah even had a death experience. Sarah even talked about the prayer that her sister prayed to God for a miracle to take place in their lives due to hunger. She talked about how hard it was raising three children and how the abuse affected her life. She told me how God released her from domestic-violence abuse. She talked about the infidelity, lies, and deception in her marriages. Sarah talked about the success she had in life and the success of her children. She often told how God called her into the ministry. Sarah shared about domestic violence, abuse, deliverance, healing, hope, finding your peace in the midst of a storm, loving yourself, reaching out and conquering fear, and loving one another. Sarah said to me what her favorite scripture is, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me" (Phil. 4:13).
