The question of what prayer is and how exactly one goes about praying has been vexing Christians for centuries. For this reason, R.A. Torrey's How to Pray is as relevant now as it was when first published in 1900. This slim volume, filled with analogies, parables, and relevant Biblical passages, contains step-by-step guidelines for anyone looking to develop a closer relationship with God. Learn the ten reasons why prayer is important, the three secrets of effective praying, the seven hindrances to prayer, the seven ways to determine when to pray, and more. Clear, succinct, and written with the lay reader in mind, How to Pray is a book the devout Christian can turn to again and again. American pastor and writer REUBEN ARCHER TORREY (1856-1928) traveled worldwide, evangelizing and winning converts to Christianity. A prolific writer, his works include Baptism with the Holy Spirit (1895), What the Bible Teaches (1898), and How to Bring Them to Christ (1893).
As Christians, we often struggle to find the words to speak in the presence of God Almighty. Praying to God may feel foreign or like a ritual, and adding to that frustration, we worry that God isn’t listening. Even if He hears, will He reply? This book will show you that God not only listens but also answers. He is waiting to provide an outpouring of blessings, if only you will ask Him. God wants you to be a prayer warrior and will help you.

Learn how to access heaven and release it into the earth! Jesus’ disciples heard every message, witnessed every miracle and deliverance and healing and we don’t see one recorded time where they asked Him, “Teach us to preach,” or “Teach us to heal,” or “Teach us to deliver.” After spending three and a half years with the Son of God in the flesh, they cried out to Him, “We want Your prayer life… Teach Us to Pray!” They understood that Jesus’ public life of ministry was the result of His private life of prayer with the Father. It’s in light of this reality that we must begin to shift all of our discipleship and training of the next generation. We are living in turbulent days, therefore we must get back to the foundational realities of intimate connection with heaven. We must come out of the swirl of noise and busyness and distraction and reconnect to heaven so that we will see heaven’s invasion into the earth. Corey Russell has given himself to 30-plus hours of prayer a week for the last 20 years, and longs to take the lessons he has learned through all the seasons of life and impart them to as many as will receive. Discover how: To tune out the noise, distractions, and busyness of our culture and cultivate hours at the feet of Jesus To allow the Lord to remove all of the props we build our lives on and hear His voice To ascend to the throne of God and see His power manifested in our families, our circumstances, and our world To persevere in prayer when you hit walls of resistance To be sent with authority and power and compassion into the world around you To build a life of consistent prayer that hosts the anointing of prayer To go from being an echo of someone else’s message to becoming a voice in your generation To develop a deeper intimacy with the Holy Spirit Teach Us to Pray will ignite your prayer life from one that is filled with boredom into one that is filled with power!

My reason for writing this Bible study guide on prayer is to reintroduce everyone to the real basics for a successful prayer life. I want to give everyone a true sense of a relationship with a real all-powerful God. Our Savior-God wants a relationship that is totally honest concerning a Holy God and His Chosen People. Christian prayers are not being answered today for several reasons. Gods word is trying to give us a peaceful heart through our baptism by faith in Jesus Christ. Since we have been quickened or made alive with God in Christ Jesus we need to put our will worship aside and worship our savior Jesus Christ. Matthew 6:1-15 I want to let Gods Word help us rediscover our Christian prayer life. To do this, we need to re-examine our views of The Living, All Powerful God of the Universe! The best place to begin is in Matthew 6, where Jesus tries to introduce us to proper prayer life. Then, after we re-examine our Heavenly Father, I want to examine the hindrances to a successful prayer life that we commit because of our sinful daily walk, according to James 4:1-17. I want to also discuss at least 5 ways that God does answer prayer. I realize that there are many ways to examine this part of our study, but we need to be honest with ourselves. Mike
