This is a memoir of my life, and how God used death, loss, alcoholism, sickness, anger, and divorce to transform me through His redemptive work. I reveal how early in my life I tried to control all the events that occurred, but this only brought more pain, hurt, and heartache. I was going down a dead-end path that was leaving me stagnate in my spiritual life, and broken on the inside. However, God got my attention, and offered a way out of all the distress that I was going through. He offered me hope, love, and forgiveness, and taught me how to use what I had gone through to help others who are hurting and feeling hopeless. My life story is a living testimony of God’s love, grace, and transforming power through the cross. He took the ugliness and dysfunction that was in my life, and turned it into a beautiful gift from which others may benefit. My prayer is that others who read my story may see their value as God’s chosen child, and come to experience the most precious relationship there is.

The Demon King Du Chunfeng, who had returned to the country to investigate his father's death, jumped off the plane and was saved by the mafia lord. He experienced a different life from the softhearted hearts of the battlefield ... Beautiful ladies, teachers, police officers, air stewardesses ... They came one after another!
So far, everything I’d put together went something like this: 1) There was a freaky paranormal organization I’ve never heard of sending people to protect me from ruthlessly lethal demons bent on murdering me for absolutely no reason I could think of. 2) A dangerous duo of charismatic twin brothers—one of which is somehow related to me—had been sent to do the job. 3) A sparky (and sparkly) and daring new teen girl that takes bipolar to a whole new level and just maybe needs to check into an insane asylum, was acting like we had been friends forever—or were going to be. Which, though the thought was definitely interesting, scared me slightly. 4) All these things added up to a wonderful sitcom made specially by God for me, called: “The End of My Normal Life as I Knew It.” God.
They’re talented, good-looking and falling in love. Kang Seuk-Chim, leader of K-pop superstar group SBG, rarely has time to himself to relax, so when his childhood friend Park Seo-Ho invites him to his wedding on beautiful Jeju Island, he jumps at the chance to get away. What he doesn’t expect is for the trip to bring upheaval into his life, both good and bad. While there, he reconnects with the third member of their childhood trio, Melody Kim, who moved to the United States when they were all 12 years old. But the girl who could once put both him and Seo-Ho to shame on a skateboard or bike has grown into a stunningly beautiful woman, one toward whom he feels an immediate attraction. But when photos of them together get splashed all over the internet, ones that appear scandalous, he’s faced with not only protecting Melody from angry fans but also the very real possibility that he’ll have to leave SBG to protect his fellow members. Following her father’s death, Melody Kim has moved back to South Korea so that her mother can find solace in family and old friends. She’s happy to reconnect with her own childhood friends but is stunned when she meets Chim again, because all the magazine photos and TV appearances do not do him justice. The best part is that despite being a worldwide star, her friend seems every bit as kind and humble as he’d been as a kid. But a fun weekend before she starts her new job as a language instructor is turned upside down by someone out to make some quick money or do damage to SBG—or both. While trying to clear their names and protect those they care about, both Chim and Melody find themselves unexpectedly falling for their best friend. But is confessing that love worth the risk of losing the friendship?

A charming, delightfully photographed tribute to the older dog, with essays and poetry. Gandhi once said, "The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way that its animals are treated." How people regard older animals is especially revealing. Beautiful Old Dogs is a heartfelt, emotional, passionate tribute to old dogs. It will inspire many readers to get involved in senior dog rescue and adoption, as it honors our senior best friends and explores their current state of care and custody in an informative appendix. This book features the exquisite photography of the late Garry Gross, a noted fashion photographer during the 60s, 70s and 80s who, after becoming a highly successful dog trainer in New York City, turned his camera lens towards dogs. Gross, along with Victoria Stilwell from Animal Planet's It's Me or the Dog, founded Dog Trainers of New York in 2002, and became devoted to highlighting the plight and value of senior dogs. "The older the better," Gross said. "Dogs with soul in their eyes."David Tabatsky has collected Gross's photographs here, and carefully curated an accompanying selection of moving, insightful, funny, and uplifting essays and short pieces by a range of writers, with contributions from Anna Quindlen, Ally Sheedy, Christopher Durang, Doris Day, Dean Koontz, Marlo Thomas, and many more.

Although it has long been commonplace to imagine the archetypal American poet singing a solitary "Song of Myself," much of the most enduring American poetry has actually been preoccupied with the drama of friendship. In this lucid and absorbing study, Andrew Epstein argues that an obsession with both the pleasures and problems of friendship erupts in the "New American Poetry" that emerges after the Second World War. By focusing on some of the most significant postmodernist American poets--the "New York School" poets John Ashbery, Frank O'Hara, and their close contemporary Amiri Baraka--Beautiful Enemies reveals a fundamental paradox at the heart of postwar American poetry and culture: the avant-garde's commitment to individualism and nonconformity runs directly counter to its own valorization of community and collaboration. In fact, Epstein demonstrates that the clash between friendship and nonconformity complicates the legendary alliances forged by postwar poets, becomes a predominant theme in the poetry they created, and leaves contemporary writers with a complicated legacy to negotiate. Rather than simply celebrating friendship and poetic community as nurturing and inspiring, these poets represent friendship as a kind of exhilarating, maddening contradiction, a site of attraction and repulsion, affinity and rivalry. Challenging both the reductive critiques of American individualism and the idealized, heavily biographical celebrations of literary camaraderie one finds in much critical discussion, this book provides a new interpretation of the peculiar dynamics of American avant-garde poetic communities and the role of the individual within them. By situating his extensive and revealing readings of these highly influential poets against the backdrop of Cold War cultural politics and within the context of American pragmatist thought, Epstein uncovers the collision between radical self-reliance and the siren call of the interpersonal at the core of postwar American p
